Our commitment to eye care extends beyond the walls of our practice. We believe everyone deserves access to healthy vision, which is why our team actively participates in community programs that bring eye care to underserved populations both locally and abroad.

Dr. Sylvia Chen and our staff are dedicated to making eye care more accessible for children, families, and communities in need. By volunteering time and resources, we ensure vision care is available to those who may not otherwise receive it.

Dr. Chen volunteers with the Tzu Chi Foundation, a global humanitarian organization founded in Taiwan and dedicated to providing medical relief, disaster assistance, and education to underserved communities. Through this partnership, she offers free vision screenings, eye exams, and essential eye care services to individuals and families who would otherwise face barriers to treatment.
The foundation’s mission is built on compassion and relief, and Dr. Chen is proud to contribute her skills to this effort. By providing hands-on care at multiple clinics, she helps patients maintain their vision, protect their eye health, and improve their quality of life—reinforcing her lifelong dedication to serving those most in need.
Alongside her daughter, Dr. Chen co-founded Eyehope, an initiative dedicated to providing free vision screenings and glasses for children in need.
The mission of Eyehope is to expand access to eye care and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, play, and grow with clear vision.

Our eye doctors and staff also take part in local health fairs, school screenings, and educational events in Hoboken.
These programs help identify vision problems early, raise awareness about conditions such as myopia and dry eye, and connect families with ongoing care at our practice.
For nearly 100 years, EyeSite Vision Center has been a part of the Hoboken community. Today, we honor that legacy by combining advanced medical care with a dedication to outreach, because protecting vision is not only about treating patients in our office but also ensuring access for those who need it most.
